“In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight….”
– Ephesians 1:5-8
“Our self image is so contrary to the way God sees us that we miss out on God’s best. God sees us as champions. We see ourselves as dead dogs.
…You need to be bold and claim what belongs to you. It brings God no pleasure for you to live in … poverty, with low self esteem, with that dead-dog mentality.”
– Joel Osteen
No one has covered more miles or spoken to more people about Jesus than Billy Graham. Over 200 million heard him in person, and millions more heard him on the radio and watched him on television. My wife was one of them. She followed Jesus over 45 years ago as a result of his message. And shortly afterward I became a follower, too. That was the beginning of a new and much better life for both of us. So like millions of others, I’m very thankful for Billy Graham’s hard work and dedicated life. And I’m even more thankful that today he’s with the One who will say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
“It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.” – I Timothy 1:15-16
Thankfully, for those of us who think we’ve sinned beyond God’s grace, Paul has some encouraging words.
